Product Description

In high-latitude and coastal regions, roofing systems face severe weather extremes. Small-diameter penetrations, such as solar cabling, sensor wires, and small conduits, are highly vulnerable to water ingress. Standard rubber boots often fail prematurely when exposed to heavy snow loads or continuous moisture accumulation, necessitating more resilient composite solutions.

The YS-137 roof flashing, produced under the Yombo brand, is specifically engineered to address these harsh climates, accommodating ultra-small penetrations from 0 to 35 mm.

Material Science & Engineering

The YS-137 utilizes a robust multi-material architecture designed for extreme climate adaptability:

High-Grade EPDM Collar: The sealing cone is manufactured from premium EPDM rubber, delivering exceptional resistance to ozone cracking, UV degradation, and extreme temperature variations.

Lead-Zinc Sheet Base: Structurally supported by a 450x280mm lead-zinc sheet, the base provides maximum malleability. This ductile alloy is easily dressed over deep metal roof profiles or slate tiles without cracking, while offering superior cathodic corrosion resistance.

Integrated Butyl Tape: Pre-applied high-tack butyl adhesive on the underside of the flange ensures an immediate, air-tight, and water-resistant primary seal against the substrate.

Key Installation Factors

Profile Conformability: The lead-zinc base allows installers to contour the flashing perfectly around standing seams or high-profile clay tiles, minimizing ponding risks.

Self-Adhesive Security: The integrated butyl backing seals minor surface imperfections and provides secondary defense against wind-driven rain.

Frequently Asked Question:
How does the lead-zinc base perform compared to aluminum?
Lead-zinc offers superior ductility, allowing it to conform tightly to complex, high-profile tile contours without springing back or fatiguing over long-term thermal cycling.
